Went from one desert to another! And it was awesome!!
I pulled over for everything! :-)
Scenic route through Joshua Tree...
The wonderful things you'll see...
Aside from melting it's a pretty magical place :-).
And I made it to Palm Springs! Stayed at this cute clean all white with tons of living green walls hotel called Alcazar and they had little beach cruiser bikes! Uhmm, way too hot to go for a ride but a pretty cool option for the spring or fall or for the brave! And a pool! Yes! This baby beluga straight chilled, happily. The hotel has three great restaurant options one being PS's famous brunch spot called Cheeky's, the second being a pretty blow up your mouth in a great kind of a way Italian Birba's, and of course every property needs an all American steakhouse, Mr. Lyons.
Across from the hotel was an awesome little restaurant called Copleys, I definitely recommend you eat there! It was formerly Cary Grants guest house turned to American style awesome chic restaurant.
There's a lot of fun places to eat in PS... A couple good Mexican joints great for dinner with live music playing mildly late into the evening... A phenomenal sandwich place called The Sandwich Shop and a burger at Tyler's Burger... I visited a couple other properties around town that I contemplated staying at... The famous Parker has really cool decor and fun outside atmosphere both adult and family friendly. And The Colony hotel with decor that reminds me of Marrakech and Bali... But at the end for me, I've decided Alcazar will be my spot when in PS.
When visiting PS, DO ride the aerial tram up!! So cool! 8516 FEET!! Some fun challenging and not so challenging trails as well as the most gorgeous view! I got to 9700 feet but I'll aim for higher next time plus I'd like to the see the Salton sea. Please be prepared as upstairs and downstairs do not share the same climate. ;-)
One must also visit Moortens botanical garden! I came home with a bunch of succulents too! The owners are so nice and will tell you a lot about a lot.
And to finish my tour of PS, I ended it with a French savory crepe from FARM... Such a charming little spot! Merci!! Until next time... PS, I love you.
